You may not know this, but we are currently in a global water crisis. It may not feel like it to you and me, but people are suffering all around the world because they don't have access to clean water. Did you know, every 2 minutes a child dies from a water-related disease? Or that 785 million people lack access to clean water...that’s one in 10 people on the planet!
The first and (a portion of) second grade students at Mae Richardson Elementary School are done sitting by and feeling sorry for those suffering. We are calling the community to action. For the cost of a night out to dinner, a game of bowling, or even one out-of-home coffee....you could make a difference. It only takes $20 to give clean water to one person for an entire year!
On April 14th, students at MRE School will be hosting a fundraiser to help raise money to drill a well in a village in Africa. Come join us for a short documentary that will educate you on the well-drilling process and what these remote communities must endure on a regular basis. There will be opportunities for a silent auction of student art, bracelets, and snacks for sale. Bobbio’s Pizza of Central Point will be donating all pizza sale proceeds to benefit the drilling. Kona Ice will be there to contribute a portion of their proceeds to the effort as well. Don’t miss out on the fun!
We challenge you to empower the voices of these students and be the change we expect from our future leaders! If you can’t join us for the event, we encourage you to dig deep and give whatever you can to the cause. Every penny will make a difference. Help make their voices heard! Build a well, Build a Future

If you're creating your own page: It's easy! First, think about a fundraising goal that's reachable. You can always increase your goal later! Click on the "Create my Wishing Well" button below. Create a login, and once on your new page add your photo & some words to inspire your friends and family to join you by donating to this worthy cause. Then share your page's link via email and social media to raise funds for a water well! To pay for a complete new well you'll want to raise US $8,000, and if you do, we'll contact you to find out the words you'd like on your dedication plaque that gets affixed to the water well.
