We’re two middle school students from Indian Hills Middle School, and during a class project, we learned about the trapped water theory—how clean water exists underground in many places around the world, but communities can’t reach it because they don’t have the tools or resources to dig wells.

We were shocked to find out that over 700 million people around the world still don’t have access to safe, clean water, and many have to walk miles every day just to collect it from rivers or ponds that are often unsafe to drink. This not only affects health—it also keeps kids out of school and holds entire communities back.

That’s why we decided we didn’t want this to just be a school project. We want to take real action.

Our goal is to raise $8,000 to build a clean water well in a water-scarce community in Africa. We’re partnering with a trusted nonprofit to make sure every dollar goes directly to helping a community get permanent access to safe drinking water.

Even though we’re just students, we believe that with the help of our school, community, and people like you, we can make a real impact—one drop at a time.
